#DataMustFall

                                             #DataMustFall

#DataMustFall is an issue that South Africans are addressing in order to have low-cost data. If that can be achieved, that means we will all have more access to trending news and information we looking for during the day, without worrying about being overcharged for using the internet.

                     WHAT WE IN NEED OF

Bring the cost of data down let have a look at how this hashtag affects us as individuals and how again public relations industry are being affected by this campaign. Firstly, we all in need of information at a different level, secondly we want to have access to new information as soon as possible, and lastly, we need information that meet our needs in an effective manner.

                      PROVIDING RELEVANT INFORMATION

Create a social media content When using the internet I want to save on data, so I just go online knowing what I’m looking for and what I expect to find at that particular time. So providing too much information that is irrelevant to the content means wasting your audience time and money used to access that information. Which is the reason why as a Public Relations Practitioner you need to know what kind of information your audience needs and what they find most interesting?

                   KNOWING YOUR AUDIENCE

Social media engagement Just because we are being affected by the high cost of data that doesn’t mean that we not searching for information or interacting in social networks to build a relationship with people. As a PRP, you need to locate your audience using social media, you need to be aware of what your audience prefers. For an instant, when I’m on social media like Facebook, I’m looking for inspiration and I want to know what others are doing or saying about my profile. social media for business Which is what every PRP and organizations are worried about, they provide information to the internet to their audience so that they may keep them up to date with any changes within the organization and they expect feedback in return.

Happy customers good business While the high cost of data is still high, the PR industry needs to know which important information and news their audience needs to know about. That will help in showing that even though the data is expensive, stakeholders are being accommodated and are being met halfway with information.

REMEMBER: LESS INFORMATION PRESENTED IN AN EFFECTIVE MANNER SAVES DATA OF THE USER AND YOURS

  1. this is a good article because at the end of the day we rely more on technology for our day to day dealings whether business or personal. This would be a great campaign to follow up as this is why network providers loose business.

  2. Data must fall for sure. Our daily lives from news, to traffic, to load shedding to businesses including school work is now reliant on data. South Africa must come up with ways of getting this right, because right now we are being set up for failure

  5. This will be a great campaign because in South Africa most of the important information are posted online so it will be great if the data fall so that everyone can be familiar with online information

  6. The expense rate of data in South Africa is quite alarming considering that we don't get the same data charges as other countries..and we suffer from that cause today most job applications are done online of which in order for you to actually apply that will need data and with how the economy is operating data would be really expensive for some individuals.
PR companies that post information online suffer aswell because of the limited number of people online due to lack of data

  7. And to think that most people who are exposed to social media or the internet in general are young people who still at school and expected to pay such amounts for data, hurts.
